Tales From The Portable Gaming Case: Gladiators

So I take four of the ‘trees’ (tin foil glued to washers and flocked) put them in a square to create a rough representation of a 3×3 grid. I then flip over the top card of the deck, the card shows an arrow moving from one grid square to another. First the figures in the grid square the arrow starts in fight, then the survivor/s move from that square to the square the arrow points to, and they fight again, then a new card is flipped. Fights are easily resolved, although I’m on the hunt for a better mechanic, but for now, I roll a die for each figure and the lowest roller is eliminated.

What I like most about this system is that it plays itself, which is something strange people look for I’m sure, not a solo game but a 0 player game, but the fun comes from naming and tracking the successes and failures of your gladiators.
