I’ve been thinking a lot about Khorne Berserkers lately and remembered I’d already got 24 fully assembled lads, with textured bases and primed black in a box somewhere. So I pulled the box out and had a look at them:

I had an idea as to how I was going to go about painting them so I set to work on a test model:

I started with a gold dry brush over the entire model, I then went in and picked out any details I wanted to be silver.

The next step is the most difficult, taking Citadel’s Contrast Paint Blood Angels Red I painted the red armour inside the trim. I had to tidy things up in a couple of places but I did fairly well! I then picked out any leather straps and the gloves with purple and painted the internal armour with Black Templar the best Contrast Paint.

The entire model then got a wash of Nuln Oil.

I then highlighted the gloves and picked out any other details like the studs on the gloves that hadn’t yet been picked out. I then did a simple medium grey and white dry brush on the base and painted the base edge black. Oh and since I hadn’t drilled it out I painted the end of his pistols barrel black.

After a brush on varnish to protect all that contrast paint, I put some blood for the blood god on his chain sword (other blood effect paints are available) and using a water colour palette I dabbed a light green into the slits on his helmet. Big of static grass and done!
Now to replicate that feat 24 times!
