The Deathzap Universe – 2100AC

The planets of the Xolar system first found themselves colonised by humanity 2000 years ago when the Jendari pilgrims from Titan, Europa, Io, Callisto and Ganymede escaped through the Martian Portal.

Mordrac

Mordrac the planet closest to the star Xol has yet to be terraformed and remains super hot and uninhabitable.

Kannis

Kannis the second planet was first colonised by Volkovian Mining ships during the Age of Peace. Kannis was partially terraformed and mining efforts were fruitful as Kannis itself is rich in natural resources. However mining efforts were stopped after widespread reports of paranormal activity emerged. Volkovian mining corporations working on behalf of House Baronor initially believed the reports to be some excuse to avoid work and to not meet mining targets, but later accused the Jendari Collective of sabotage. In the early 1900s the inhabitants of Kannis became increasingly hostile to outside interference refusing any incoming ships and destroying any that attempted to land. In 1991AC Darros Mortan united the miners and terraformers into a single group known as Mortan’s Men. Mortan himself became an almost mythological figure, as his followers believed him to be hundreds of years old and capable of curing any disease or healing any wound.

In order to regain Kannis attention turned to Kannis’ moon Oltra. While Mortan’s Men were a presence on Oltra they were vastly reduced in number making landing ships possible. In order to establish a foothold for planetary invasion the SynJen Alliance (Jendari Collective, House Baronor and Hegemony of Synthos) and the ALL (Allegiance of Gnossos, Legion of Kharthion and League of Zandor) fought for its control. The initial stages of the war ended in a stalemate. However with the sudden end to the Camerian Civil war and the start of the Second Global War on Jendar SynJen forces were forced to withdraw leaving the moon open for the ALL to stage a full invasion of Kannis.

Jendar

Jendar is home to House Baronor and the Jendari Collective and after years of proxy wars between the two super powers a second full scale global war has just begun. It was the balance of power that kept the House and the Collective in check, but with the swift and decisive victory of the North Camerians in the Camerian Civil War the new United Cameria pushed to join the Jendari Collective.

Now with the balance of power shifted into the favour of the Collective and fearing invasion House Baronor chose to strike first. Baronor commanders hoping that a lightening operation in the north, through Goza and straight through into the Rin Empire, the heart of the Jendari Collective, would end the war almost as soon as it began.

Gnossos

Gnossos is an entirely artificial planet. When the Jendari Pilgrims arrived in the Xol system some, mostly scientists chose to land their ships on the planet Gnossos instead of the much more habitable Jendar. The planets surface was coated almost entirely in a layer of clear sand, but after a little digging metal plates were found.

Unable to use the planets surface for little more than research the new inhabitants of Gnossos were mostly confined to their ships. The ship-cities slowly expanded with the colonists making use of whatever scrap they could salvage from the planet itself. Shortly after salvage efforts began the Gnossians came across entrances and tunnels that led deep into the planet itself. Within the tunnels abandoned rooms and bases were found stocked with advanced technology and weapons. Most equipment was greatly oversized for human use but this helped the colonists reverse engineer what they could find and build technology of their own. The rudimentary AI of the Gnossian colonist ship was soon developed into a full sentient and benevolent intelligence, ONA was the name they chose and they led the colonists further and deeper discoveries and their technology advanced millennia within decades. Research continued on what artefacts could be found in the deep planetary vaults of Gnossos but nothing came to light regarding the race of Aliens that must have constructed some kind of outer shell on a pre-existing world, or that may have built the entire planet from scratch. All that could be established is that they were roughly humanoid and each was around 20 feet tall. Later contact with other races such as the Vel, Selenoids and Khydran proved that they were not the originators of Gnossos and in fact knew nothing of its origins.

In 1513AC the Gnossian Colonists now known as The Allegiance of Gnossos began observing and visiting their planetary neighbours on Jendar and Ashnyr. Horrified by both neighbours propensity for conflict the Gnossians leave and enter into an age of Isolation from 1600AC onwards, but the damage had already been done and both planets had already taken and developed Gnossian technology, the Prosecution Directive is established shortly after in 1622AC to stop anymore technology falling into the wrong hands.

While Gnossos officially remains in isolation to this day with the Jendari taking to the stars the looming threat of military action against the Allegiance could not be ignored. The ALL is formed in 1856AC after the Allegiance reached out to the planet Ashnyr. While the Gnossians can provide advanced technology the relative hostility of their home world has curbed their population substantially compared to the planet Jendar and so help would be required were a Jendari invasion of the planet Gnossos to take place. However now with the withdrawal of SynJen forces from Oltra, the ALL are pushing forward with an invasion of Kannis and the Allegiance also has the planet Gnojen to consider.

Ashnyr

The world of Ashnyr mirroring Jendar is also split between two factions – the League of Zandor and the Legion of Kharthion. However unlike the planet Jendar any disputes are settled in sacred Warsport on the Arrjak Penninsula. The constant state of war greatly increased their technological prowess, and even the Gnossos did little to improve things on Ashnyr. Despite the constant war the civilian population have lived in an almost constant state of peace since 500AC. It was only during the Synthos Rebellion in 1998AC that any civilians were killed in conflict. The deaths of civilians in war to the League and Legion are considered blasphemous as only heroes have the right to die in any military conflict and enter into the land of Valko in the afterlife.

While the ALLs attention is turned towards an invasion of Kannis the League and Legion specifically have devoted large portions of their military might to eliminating any Hegemony of Synthos forces they can find seeking vengeance not only for the rebellion but also for the Hegemony’s betrayal in the Oltra conflict.

Eridai

The planet Eridai is a vast ocean of water with no landmasses at all. No Xolar faction has yet inhabited it, however a gathering of Solar Raider ships have been orbiting it united by the more advanced Davian Supremacy. The ALL are keeping a close eye on the activity of these new united Solar Raiders but little can be done with the looming invasion of Kannis.

Gnojen

The planet Gnojen was colonised after a Selenoid was stunned and captured intact by Jendari Rangers. Unsure of what to do the Collective contacted the Allegiance of Gnossos and a secret agreement was brokered. Research on the captured alien took place on Oltra in the demilitarised district of Dorzo. The Selenoids are known for their ability to appear and disappear seemingly at random and while testing a device on the Selenoid’s armour a portal to a new planet was opened. The planet was dubbed Gnojen. The portal itself was only 10 feet wide and opened into a lush jungle.

While the portal is maintained small amounts of tech and personnel can pass through. This has enabled some small amount of colonisation, however with SynJen forces leaving the moon of Oltra the Jendari Collective forces on the other side of the Gnojen portal also pulled out. In order to stall Gnossian research efforts while pulling out Jendari troops sabotaged and destroyed whatever equipment they could.

Gnojen itself seems to exist within an entirely different galaxy from the Solar and Xolar systems. The star of the system is a yellow dwarf like Sol and Xol and was named Geist. While little more could be done than view the other planets of the system through telescopes and with some rudimentary probes three planets orbit closer to Geist and they are named Calonar, Ordax and Teelo, further from two planets appear to orbit each other while orbiting Geist and they were named Cassus Major and Cassus Minor.

It is believed that Gnojen is not the home world of the Selenoids but a possible buffer world, a world they might teleport to before moving on to their home world once they are sure no enemies have followed.

The Vel maintain their observation of the Xolar System, and dabble in military conflict for an extremely high price if called upon.

The Khydran Enclave have slowed their invasion of the Xolar System, and it is believed they too are now in a state of observation like the Vel. ALL leaders believe the Khydran underestimated the inhabitants of the Xolar system and so are now looking for developing weaknesses before pressing further.
