Defending Cabolt

I knew the next battle in my Deathzap campaign would be the siege of Cabolt the capital city of Caerdonia. This put things on hold for a while. The main struggle I’ve had with my global war is the lack of terrain options I have in my collection, currently everywhere looks the same in the Deathzap universe, whether it’s the mines of Kannis, the war torn Arrjak Peninsula on Ashnyr, the Ariban desert or the Sectors of Gnossos. So much expansion is needed!

For Cabolt I was looking for some kind of fortress or city wall, and rather than building my own, I instead turned to Amera Plastics.

Amera make vacuum formed terrain, which seems to be made from 1mm thick plasticard. The greeting thing about many of their pieces is that they are hollow and so have ample storage space inside. To defend Cabolt I picked up their Fortress for £30.

It’s pretty big!

The fort laid out as above measures 68x68cms, and although my goal is to defend Cabolt with it, being generic enough it will have other uses:

It works well with my smaller Deathzap figures.
But will also work well with 28/32mm figures.

Amera recommend washing before painting, so I’ll have to play with it in the bath first (Sharks vs Germans?).

I’m thinking either painting it in a sandy colour or concrete, maybe also squeezing it into some Bolt Action?

I’ll now need to write siege rules too.

  1. I guess this is like jumping back to bellona land except I don’t remember a fortress in their range? I still have some river pieces-very fragile. And as it happens I bought an amera bridge from a model shop in Porthmadog 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿- they had a vast range of scenic items to choose from
