It’s been a fun year. Looking back through the blog is always interesting, so many projects discarded and forgotten, so many exciting ideas to rediscover.
So what am I hoping for in 2024?
A New Year’s resolution of mine is to play more games and to attempt to stay 5% more focused on current projects. We’re all butterflies in this hobby, but looking back through the blog I have been particularly ‘flaky’ this year.
I’d really like to get my Deathzap Global Campaign done, so I can progress the story a bit, and I’d also like to develop my ‘crunchy’ rules a little bit more.

I also really want to play around in Deathzap’s past but I think I’m doing that in 42-54mm.
On the 40k Grimdark front I’d really like to get all of my World Eaters done. I made little progress this year, I suppose largely because I didn’t need to. I’ve got a good amount done already, but it would be nice to get all table ready.

And in terms of purchases, stick to more Cultist units only.

On the newer projects front, I’m looking forward to developing WOTH (War of the Hominids), where I pit bands of cryptid apemen against each other.

I have a core system in place and I’m currently playing around with a scenario generator. From there I’ll look into faction rules so Yetis feel different from Sasquatches, and then I’ll go on to character progression and campaigns.
I’ll continue pushing into the Ion Age, awaiting the new version of Moth, building up my Shia Khan collection and my Grima Robots.

Figuring out Ghost Legions is also a must! It’s a project that’s driven me barmy for years.

I’d also like to revisit my Solo Slasher game, although the rules currently elude me on that one.

My friends and I are also discussing a foray into Legions Imperialis, I’m thinking of going Deathguard, I’ve also got murmurings of Nurgle for Old World… who knows.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year of gaming to you all!
Thanks for reading my ramblings.
Sounds like 2024 could be the Year of the Contented Butterfly 🙂
