The Supremacy of Kannis’ Second Ascended

Darros Mortan’s work in genetic engineering brought about the ‘Ascended’, the elite troops of Mortan’s Men and feared defenders of the moon of Oltra. Their increased size and strength allowed Mortan’s Men to put heavy weaponry in the hands of infantry. They were the best troops seen, out pacing and out fighting all comers, their only downside being their extremely limited numbers due to the limited resources of Mortan’s Men. Attempts were made at streamlining or utilising different resources to improve Mortan’s secretive process in creating Ascended, however all were failures and the products were outcast, forming into The Exiles Tribes who provided some support to Mortan’s Men in the defence of Oltra.

With the failure of the Oltra campaign and the collapse of the SynJen Alliance, the Hegemony of Synthos found a new alliance with the Davian Supremacy. The Supremacy were unique among Solar Raider Tribes for their advanced technology and they continue to be one of the most advanced forces within the Xolar System, rivalling even the Allegiance of Gnossos.

The Davian Supremacy were keen to make contact with Mortan’s Men and were welcomed on to the planet Kannis itself, instead of greeted by the same hostility that had faced the ALL and SynJen. It appears this was due to the similarity of paranormal occurrences on the ancient world of Pluto within the Solar System, to those that were now occurring on Kannis.

The newly formed alliance dubbed ‘The Supremacy of Kannis’ advanced Mortan’s Ascended experiments in multiple ways. The Ascended themselves could be equipped with even greater weaponry due to the technology of the Davians, and instead of untrained terraformers and miners the Davian Supremacy provided veteran soldiers. The Hegemony of Synthos also provided Mortan with an understanding of Synth physiology and reproduction. This all culminated into the birth of the ‘Second Ascended’.

Fielded in greater number with better training and technology, the Second Ascended were potentially the most lethal force fielded during the Selenoid Wars.

While not as huge and imposing as the Selenoids themselves, the Second Ascended dwarfed regular humans.
