Barreling towards some games of Deathzap, I knew I needed to improve on my terrain. I’ve had the same cork buildings for some time now:

They functioned… sort of… but could do with some improvements.

One of the major complaints I had was the lack of room on the insides of the buildings, it was particularly difficult for me to get my fingers and move my little men around. My other complaint was the paint job, it was a bit too basic and to me didn’t match the aesthetics of the rest of my collection.

So I started by ripping out the insides, and putting more holes in the walls. I mixed up a new goop, which was mostly wall filler and no more nails, however I had half a pot of sand texture paste so I chucked that in too.

I also put sand and gravel on the bases to make things look a bit better.

Painting was the more realistic approach of a lot of watered down layers of a random mix of colours with a light tan, almost white drybrush to tie everything together and I got back into writing Jendari for my signs.

I think things look a lot better now and should be more fun to play with.

I seem to have misplaced a couple of pieces, but once they’re found they’ll be updated.

Either way they gave the necessary effect-in fact I did not realise they were cork – which breaks nicely into jagged shapes. I assume the bases are mdf ? Overall an improvement if your gaming gets easier!
The bases are just some cheap coasters I had lying around.
Excellent
Nice. I like the three part ruin.
You manage to get a lot from your simple materials. All looks great! 😃
