My January hyperfocus continues in earnest with more unit for my Havok forces. This time around I nabbed a box of Bulldogs and Space Nam.
For my Nexus force I’ve put together 3 new units. From the standard Havok roster I put together some Tribunes:

The Bulldogs box gives you steam punk colonial era British figures to play with, and the come with swords for officers and the occasional mech arm which suits the Tribunes well:

I used some of the bald heads from the Cannon Fodder box to get them looking closer.
I’ve also put together a unit of Nexus Storm Troopers. These guys are going to be very basically painted, and shouldn’t take too long as the original models themselves were very basic, just grey plastic, with the face, a red visor on the helmet and their gun picked out.
I’m taking a bit of artistic license here in recreating them, using the Bulldogs as normal, but swapping out the heads for another head from the Cannon Fodder box.

My other two Nexus units are my own invention. Given the nature of the Bulldog box, it’d be wrong not to put together some sci-fi WW1 Brits, which I’m calling Trenchers (and they’d be great for Trench Crusade).

Armed with SMGs and Flamethrowers, these guys will be devastating up close, or maybe should get bonuses against enemy troops in bunkers and trenches.

I’ve got another unit of Bulldogs with berets, rifles and backpacks I’m calling Commandos. These guys will be elite and I think should get some rules for infiltrating.
For the Karn Empire my main goal was to recreate the Suma-Kai:

I found a decent match with Wargames Atlantic’s Space Nam figures:

To bulk them out even further I added shoulder pads from the Eisenkern Stormtroopers.
I also built three with heavy weapons, for an even heavier weapons unit:

Compared to the standard Karn Heavy Weapons I built before:

I didn’t stop there, mainly because I though it would be cool, but also because I imagined it made sense for the Karn to take Pteravore genes and create hybrids in order to combat the Pteravore, I built four of these:

Karn Hybrids. Their legs and torsos are from the Space Nam box, but the claws and heads are spares from the Kings of War Reaper box I used to make my Razors and Screamers:

There’s a few units I still need to recreate to complete my collection. Nexus Brotherhood, Karn Kai-Unes, Clan Warriors, Glaive Riders and Borkian Mercenaries. I’ve also got to find proxies for the Nexus Hammer and Mauler tanks, along with the Karn Banshee:

Havok’s been a good distraction to get the year started, and I look forward to getting my new units on the table!
Good to see somebody having so much fun 🙂
It’s inspirational what you’re doing with the kitbashing
I thought I’d seen a good Hammer proxy suggestion in the FB group but I can’t find it again now. Might be worth asking there.
I was thinking of Mantic’s Wolverine. Struggling for a Mauler proxy though, nothing really has the same aesthetic.
