Wartomata or Wautomata, short for War Automata are the large robotic suits, sometimes piloted, sometimes AI controlled, that are utilised by the Allegiance of Gnossos, the Legion of Kharthion and the League of Zandor. The Allegiance’s Wartomata frequently look more robotic, whereas the League’s and Legion’s Wartomata have the quirk of appearing like fully armoured knights.
I had thought initially that playing Deathzap in this larger Toy Soldier size, Wartomata were something I’d have to give up. Finding knights in an even larger size being an impossibility, but then Amazon came to the rescue:
Of course I went for the 4 pack, because of the potential ‘deal’. However I genuinely wasn’t expecting much. How good could something like this be when it’s being sold for £1.80?
When they arrived I was blown away. These are basically Gunpla kits. The whole thing is push fit, the pieces come easily off of the sprues, as you can probably tell from the picture below, some were already loose in the bag.
I built the gold one, and the plastic is model kit plastic (polystyrene?), so I was able to lock the whole thing in place by squirting model glue into the joints.
A quick paint job later, and I was here:
It’s an odd kit, as looking at it, it looks decently knight-ish, however the joints and especially the crotch, make them look robot-ish. Perfect for my purposes, absolutely perfect, however odd if you want a normal looking knight.
So Wartomata will be hitting the battlefield in my larger Deathzap scale!

Nice. That’s not a bad kit for the price. I like the concept that allows you to use bigger toys and it still fit in.
I guess that’s the advantage of inventing your own universe!

It definitely is the advantage of inventing your own! Or just looking at the shelves in my local discount shops and joining the dots between the various toys there. Army men, toy knights, dinosaurs etc.
I love the way your universe is pulling all sorts of fun stuff inI await with interest the battles between your Wartomata and giant dinosaurs 🙂
I’ve got a few bigger guys to make too which I’m quite excited about. A Selenoid, a Selenoid Gunbeast and a Fleshfreak.

I’ve seen these knights advertised, and now I def want some! I’ve also got a simple, push-fit Gundam model somewhere that could make a great wartomata with some simple mods and an easy paintjob. Brilliant and inspiring as usual!
