A bit of an impulse buy here, but I was in a local model shop and spotted these:

30 Goblins for £20, not bad at all. They are part of the Oathmark range put out by Osprey and Northstar for their upcoming mass battle game.

In the box you get 6 of the sprue above which contains 5 bodies, 11 head options and enough gear to equip each of your guys with a spear and shield, smaller hand weapon and shield or with a bow. Out of the box I put together the following (ignore the other projects):

Oh and they come with 25mm square plastic bases.
I made an 8 man hand weapon and shield unit, an 8 man spear unit, an 8 man archer unit and a 6 man command unit – the warboss and his retinue.

I particularly like the archers and how good and natural some of the poses you achieve look.

Overall the models have a decent amount of character and I look forward to painting them using Citadel’s contrast range. The figures are well detailed with little to no flash and the price is definitely right! They have an old school appeal and are definitely more Tolkien inspired than Games Workshop. I also picked up a box of Elves so will be getting stuck into them in short order!
