A comfortable start to some comfortable gaming, two infantry forces go at each other:

I fully expect the Pavlovians to hold the line, but this should none the less be a fun go at some simple horse and musket rules that borrow heavily from Stuart Asquith and Donald Featherstone.

Turn 1 was uneventful, but rolling higher and smartly choosing to be ‘B’ the Baklavans made 6” of ground and avoided being fired at as they started out of range.
The first Pavlovian volley only managed to stop four Baklavans, but the Baklavan archers killed 5 Pavlovians in response!

The comfortable rules are quick and provide a fun game, less of a serious wargame they do take me back to moving around toy soldiers on my bedroom floor.
I also have figures painted for the nation of Battenberg (no prizes for guessing what their flag looks like).

I’ve also got some ACW Confederate figures for my blue army (so they match my wooden block armies) but I’ve yet to think of a blue coloured desert that also sounds like a country, any ideas?

It’s probably time I updated the hobby spend vs painted figures totals for the year so far:
Rough estimates of the strange things I’ve made and painted gets me up to £601.22 against a spent of £675.24.
That is an intriguing matchup!
best I can do is the kingdom of Crembluelé (sorry)
I love the idea of comfortable wargames! BTW Confederates in a blue army – isn’t that a type of heresy?
Probably lol. I did my usual comfortable scheme of painting the figure mostly monochrome but picking out the odd details in colour, but randomly chose to paint their blanket rolls red, so not they’re red, white and blue… I hope that doesn’t seem too political. Need to figure out their dessert fast!
