Pegasii and Pirates

I was slowed down somewhat in the week past due to a nasty headache but I came out of it filled with enthusiasm.

I’ve finished ten of the Skeleton Pirates shown off in the previous post:

I guess I’m really stretching the realms of possibility considering this game is supposed to be set during the Crusades, however I’m guessing Hell exists somewhat outside of the dimension of time, so who knows what damned souls might crawl out of a portal to Hell?

I’ve also finished off my Pegasus Cavalry:

Which are rather difficult to take pictures of.

You might have noticed the red base edges on some of the figures above. That’s because I’m differentiating unit leaders. I want to utilise the speedy mechanic of move the leader and then place every other figure in the unit within coherency rather than measure for each figure individually.

The big creepy giant is finished too. I’m not sure yet if he’s a goodie or a baddie. Either way I’m going to have to make something equally huge for the other side.

I’ve also been looking for Saracens, since I doubt if a portal to Hell did open in Jerusalem during the crusades, the Templars would be the only ones fighting the monsters spewing out. I’m sure Saladin would get involved. I’m not sure if my Saracens will count as a third faction or if they’ll join the Templars, let me know your thoughts in the comments.

What I do know is that I want them to look like the old Britains Saracens. I’ve mentioned these guys on several occasions before but they are burned into my wargaming brain from childhood.

I’ve recreated them in 1/72 scale before.

The other thing I’ve been doing all week is adding grass to bases, not all that exciting but finishing the figures off in this way does make a difference.
