Super Simple Heroes

Projects abound of late, and with Armies on Parade but one week away surely I’d be painting my Slaves To Darkness? Apparently not.

An impulse buy from Amazon, 20 DC heroes for £17 (with a couple of repeat appearances, two Batmen, two Supermen, two Wonder Women). I set about crafting rules even though Knight Models tried and tested rules are available online for free.

The figures are a glossy, metallic affair, mostly fairly low on detail.

I applied a wash, satin varnish and appropriately based them for the look above. I had two forces of 5 heroes and 5 villains in a couple of hours.

I set about messing around with rules on my Killteam board, lots of dice and counters to keep track of activations and hits.

The profiles of each character weren’t too much to deal with.

The game ended with Batman chipping off Brainiac’s last hit point with a Batarang before he could finish off Superman. All in all this was a fun afternoon’s project, the rules need work before really posting anywhere, but they were fairly fun and each character felt unique. The next step will be all about scenarios rescuing civilians, stopping robberies, all the kinds of things Super heroes should be involved in, but more importantly provide a player with difficult tactical decisions.
