How many projects is too many?

How long is a piece of string? How much more space is there on my hobby table? How many more draws do I have to store all my crap?

To answer all those questions and possibly answer the question to why am I here, what is my purpose in life? Here are five gas mask wearing womble men from Irregular Miniature’s 28mm sci-fi range.

Additionally here are the ‘Space Vandals’ which you can’t find any pictures of on the site. The tall woman on the end is listed as ‘Girl with Stunner and Hand Computer’ but she seems closer to 42mm scale, strange. Below you can see a 40k Ork for size comparisons (I didn’t have any ubiquitous Space Marines on hand).

I’ve also been working on an Anime-ish inspired skirmish project utilising various miniatures also all from Irregular. Representing the ‘Black Eve’ Corporation are some Sci-Fi Bug Hunt Counter Insect figures.

I’ve thrown them up against a bunch of Zombies from the same range the ‘Skinner Creature’ from their Fantasy range and a 42mm scale nude female to lead them.

I’m also including a religious faction I’m currently calling ‘Doctrine’. The figures are all from the Dark Elf range.

The bases if you hadn’t already noticed have old yellowed newspaper pages on them, I did this because I wanted urban bases but didn’t want to rely on the usual grass tufts which should be fairly rare to break things up. I grabbed a couple of news paper front pages off of google and shrank them down, cut them out and glued them randomly. They each then get a brown wash to age them. I mixed the washes up between Agrax Earthshade, Seraphim Sepia and Skeleton Horde, and I think Skeleton Horde is the winner.

I also grabbed some Nemedians and Fir Bolg from Alternative Armies in their August sale. Both are for their Celtic Mythology skirmish game Erin. I’m looking forward to painting them and having a few skirmishes!

Finally I’ve been working on an Adeptus Custodes army for Warhammer 40k. What you can see above is a counts as ‘Venerable Dreadnought’ made from two Astra Militarum Sentinel kits. My Custodes are not officially Custodes (I’m really just using the rules) and they tend to serve certain dark gods, I’ve dubbed them ‘Chaos-todes’.

That’s all for now!

Hope you’re hobbying lots and keeping safe!

870 Miniatures Bought.

990 Miniatures Painted!

When I hit 1000 I’ll have to have some kind of party.

  1. The question I focus on is – do I spend more time playing, or assembling & painting? The number of projects doesn’t matter as long as the playing time is at least 2 times the time spent painting. But that’s because I don’t like painting!

  2. I’m definitely the reverse, probably 80% painting, 10% assembling, 10% playing. But I like playing and painting equally. I hate assembling with a passion unless I’m converting something then it’s actually my favourite.
