Big Castle Baby

I find babies… dolls that is, make for good modelling projects. Whoever has a little bit of lurking pedophobia (fear of children/ babies) finds such things inherently creepy. And creepy is often my wheelhouse.

My Great Unclean One is a good example

So I set about attaching bits of a baby to one of those terrible looking towers you often get, inexplicably packaged with army men. It just made sense to me at the time.

It was somewhat of a fabrication in retrospect, but I sold the idea on Instagram and YouTube that my intention for the odd fellows below, were a ‘What if Hieronymus Bosch had designed Space Marines?’

So it clicked in my head then, that if those guys were Space Marines, surely Big Castle Baby would be a likely candidate for a Boschian Dreadnought.

One wonders how I got on in life before realising you could buy resin teeth on Amazon?

The paint job was quick and dirty, with lots of washes, glazes, stippling and flicking paint off of a toothbrush. I didn’t document any of it really, but it is done now, and I’m very happy with the results.

One commenter did notice his ‘Power Spork’ which surely is the deadliest of the power weapons!

I think the big lad will feature in my current project, but more as a scenario based thing and not so much as an actual part of any force, since he’s far too big and scary.

What do you think a Boschian Dreadnought would look like?

Maybe I should make a Rhino out of an actual Rhino next…
